Body Artist Application
Body Art is an integral part of the Greensboro Summer Solstice. We are always on the lookout for the best Body Artists in the area to represent the festival! If you decorate faces, bodies or hair, we are looking for top notch body artists using only FDA-approved products.
We welcome professional body artists that are ready to display their top quality art on the thousands of beautiful walking canvases that this festival attracts!
For the safety of our attendees, all body artists must use approved products:
Face & Body Paints:
Face and body painting can only be provided under the condition that you use only FDA-compliant face and body paints. These water-based formulas are specifically designed to be hypo-allergenic, gentle and easy to remove with mild soap and water. “Non-Toxic” does not mean “safe for skin.” NO Acrylic craft paints, watercolor markers or pencils.
Glitter:
If you are using glitter, use only skin/makeup grade poly glitters. Metallic craft glitter should not be used for face painting. The only safe glitters for face painting are made of polyester, and should be .008 microns in size or smaller, the size that the FDA classifies as “cosmetic size” and safe for use on skin.
Henna:
Only 100% pure, natural henna. No black or chemically-adulterated henna.
Airbrush Body Paint:
Only Non-Toxic, FDA-compliant paints allowed.
Fairy Hair:
Hair tinsel, glitter strands, shimmers, sparkle strands, or silk extensions are to only be applied by professional fairy hair artists.
LOCATION
The Greensboro Summer Solstice Festival is spread across 2 parks: Lindley Park & the Greensboro Arboretum. Vendors have the option for an additional $25 to choose a specific area that they would like to be placed (eg., in Lindley Park Bazaar, in the shade, on Faerie Lane [for vendors carrying faerie-esque items], quieter area).
Lindley Park Bazaar has Rows A, B, C (w/ electricity), D, E (against trees). Faerie Lane has 2 rows (one w/ electricity). In the Serenity Garden & Butterfly Garden vendor areas are indicated with pink lines. Electricity is limited and the areas with access are noted on the map.
APPLICATION
Tent Options
Single Space – 10’x10’ – $150.00 (Single spaces can be shared with more than one vendor.)
Double Space – 10’x20’ – $225.00 (Double spaces can be shared with 3 or more vendors and must be connected. They may not be purchased to use as separate vendor spaces.)
If you are interested in being a body artist, please fill out the form below. We will let you know within two weeks of your submission whether or not you have been selected. If you are selected, you will be emailed a link where you can complete your registration and payment. Spaces will not be reserved without registration and full payment.
DEADLINE FOR BODY ARTIST APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 30TH OR WHEN ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
There are a limited # of spaces for Body Artists. Applications will be reviewed and vendors will be alerted of their acceptance status within a week of application submission.
For accepted vendors, cancellations with a refund are accepted until June 1st. An administration fee of $5.00 will be deducted from your refund. After June 1st, cancellations are non-refundable.
